ABSTRCTFrom a Humanistic Geography perspective, ¡§existential space¡¨ refers to the meaning of subject-object intentionality and to the feelings of much more emotional values. Follow Martin Heidegger¡¦s philosophy, this kind of space reveals the human Dasein and the ways of people living being-in-the-world. The methodology, narrative inquiry, describes and illustrates the whole personal life experiences and stories for identifying one¡¦s personal or culture identity and even for the people¡¦s life-world. If we could apply this kind of methodology to the field of Humanistic Geography, we might take care and explore the personal history to look at the deeper connections between man and the land. Further, the purpose of this paper would focus on the issue of place matters as well as contribute to the researches for the new geographical methodology and to have the very deeper concerns about man and the land.
