| ABSTRCT | The study of Sanskrit-Chinese transcription has already become an indispensable discipline of Chinese Historical Phonology. Although many scholars in the past have written much about Sanskrit-Chinese transcription, the contribution of Sanskrit-Chinese transcription in Chinese Historical Phonology is still in fuzzy predicament. This paper tries to look over the adoption and practice of research method from academic history, and observes the research results of consonant system. It is hoped that this paper will provide a whole understanding of Sanskrit-Chinese transcription. |
